Industry publications release their “events to watch” lists every January, months before travel budgets tighten, dates shift, or a show quietly disappears from the calendar. Those lists tend to remain online long after the assumptions behind them have expired.
What matters nine months later is a picture of the calendar as it stands today, heading into the final quarter. Between September and December, the event industry still holds a broad set of gatherings: major global trade shows alongside focused conferences for exhibition organizers, association leaders, event marketers, technology buyers, and business-events professionals.
We reviewed that calendar directly this month, checked each date and venue, and dropped anything that had already fallen off the schedule. What remains is a list of 24 events still set to run before year’s end, each included because it’s where people who build, buy, sell, and market events will actually gather.
A few of these events are massive, filling convention centers for days at a time. Several are intentionally intimate, sized for a narrow, specific audience. All 24 made the list through direct, current verification, checked against real dates and venues.
Snöball’s on-site appearances are marked throughout.

It is now one of the year’s largest technology gatherings, with conversations spanning CRM, AI, data, sales, marketing, and customer experience.
Why event professionals should care
Events are increasingly becoming part of a broader customer-data ecosystem.
Questions around capturing attendee data, personalizing experiences, and connecting engagement to commercial outcomes are no longer separate from wider business strategy.
Dreamforce remains one of the better places to see where those conversations are heading.
5. UNBOUND 2026
September 16–18 | Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Boston
Best for: B2B marketing, demand generation, AI, and audience growth
Formerly known as INBOUND, UNBOUND brings together marketers, sales professionals, and technology leaders around audience growth, customer engagement, AI, and go-to-market strategy.
It is one of the few broader marketing events that remains on this list because of the increasing overlap between event growth and the wider disciplines of demand generation, content, data, and audience acquisition.
Why event professionals should care
Event teams are no longer operating in isolation.
Understanding how other parts of the marketing organization think about audiences, customer journeys, and growth can help event professionals build a stronger case for where events fit within the wider business strategy.
6. Skift Meetings Forum 2026
September 22 | New York City
Best for: Meetings, hospitality, travel, and senior event-industry leaders
Skift’s Meetings coverage sits at the intersection of travel, hospitality, and business events.
That makes its Meetings Forum an interesting gathering for anyone who wants to understand the wider forces influencing how people travel to, choose, and experience professional events.
Why event professionals should care
The events industry does not operate independently from hospitality, travel, and destination strategy.
For organizers and suppliers working internationally, understanding those wider forces can be just as important as understanding the event itself.

Why event professionals should care
This is a room full of the people behind some of the industry’s largest and most successful shows.
For exhibition organizers, event suppliers, and technology companies, that makes the Gold 100 considerably more relevant than a broad marketing conference with only an indirect connection to the industry.

It is more analyst-led than many of the large conferences on this list, with a particular focus on strategy and changing buyer behavior.
Why event professionals should care
For B2B event marketers, the question is increasingly about more than registrations.
It is about how events contribute to relationships, buying journeys, pipeline, and revenue.

Why event professionals should care
Audience growth is only one side of an event’s commercial model.
